The 1980s Arcade Wristwatch
This is the watch inspired by the classic arcade games of the 1980s that tracks the time with two asteroids and a spacecraft. Its face enclosed by a miniature cabinet that bears all the nostalgic design elements of its full-sized forebears (including a non-functioning joystick), this watch pays homage to the space battle games that once lined the walls of arcade parlors. It marks the hour with a large asteroid, the minute with a smaller asteroid, and the seconds with a classically simplistic triangular ship that orbits around the face’s center. Although harmless to alien ships and celestial bodies, a press of the button does yield the familiar “pew” sound of a fully functioning energy weapon of the era while lighting up each hour marker. Miyota movement provides “stellar” timekeeping.
