This is the authentic Sjoelbak handcrafted in the Netherlands that is the official shuffleboard used in Dutch and international tournaments. Thought to have originated in Tudor England as “shovelboard”, Dutch Shuffleboard first appeared in 1900 and remains a popular game in the Low Countries and Germany where the boards are considered family heirlooms. Gameplay is simple: slide an equal number of 2.04″-diam. wooden pucks down the board through 2.36″-wide archways into four scoring slots, but one’s hand may not cross the portal bar. European beech is used for the board’s bottom, slots, and the 30 machine-tooled pucks while the board’s sides, back, and portal bar are made from mahogany.
