The 150th Anniversary Golden Spike Railroad Set

This is the railroad set and gold-plated spike that commemorate the 150th anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad. After six years of construction, the two sets of tracks were connected at Summit Utah in 1869 and united during a special ceremony with a 17.6-karat golden spike. The Central Pacific’s Jupiter and the Union Pacific’s No. 119 steam locomotives also came together at that spot, marking the unity of the 1,776 miles of track. The included scaled-down replicas are crafted from metal, brass, and die-cast zinc, and painted to reproduce the colors and lettering of the original locomotives currently on display at the historic site. This limited-edition set (only 299 produced) includes a gold-plated reproduction of the golden spike and arrives in a wooden gift box.
