The Frank Lloyd Wright Globe

This is the globe seated in a modified version of Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous Barrel Chair, one of the architect’s most universally recognized designs. The chair, originally designed by Wright in 1903 and later customized for his personal use at his Taliesin home in Wisconsin, is adapted in walnut-finished maple to discreetly hold the globe in place.

The 16″-diameter globe is crafted of reclaimed paper fibers in blended earth tones with up-to-date cartography, clear political boundaries, and over 4,000 place names. The main mountain ranges are revealed via raised relief, and the map has a unique bronze metallic light and dark color palette that generates a shimmering look.
