This is the decorative cello that slides opens to reveal a symphony of spirits and stemware. Designed after a full-size 4/4 modern cello, it contains f-shaped sound holes, tuning pegs, and a classic top scroll—yet its absence of a bridge may make unschooled orchestra-goers question if it’s Baroque. The cabinet’s top, middle, and bottom shelves provide 8 1/2″, 14″ and 14 3/4″ of vertical storage, respectively, that accommodates stemware or barware and libation bottles of various sizes. Although not intended to be played, the faux instrument provides string-concert enthusiasts with access to a brandy or Bordeaux for harmonious quaffing to Bach’s cello suites or Beethoven’s Triple Concerto. Ideal for sophisticated entertaining in a parlor or study, it rests on an included wood stand, is constructed from tropical hevea brasiliensis, and is treated for protection against pests and moisture.
