This is the chess set with magnetic pieces that enable deft vertical play. The 18″ sq. sturdy wooden frame chessboard mounts to a wall like a framed picture with the included hardware. Made from high-density plastic that ensure years of handling, the classic tournament-quality Staunton chess pieces (pawns are 1 1/2″ high; Kings are 3″ high) stand “up†on the board—unaware of their horizontal orientation—thanks to a metal playing surface covered in canvas that provides 1 1/2″ sq. black and white spaces as well as space for holding captured pieces.
