The Closed Captioned Telephone
This is the home phone that transcribes and displays closed captioning of real time conversations on a built in screen. The 7″ color touchscreen instantly displays closed-captioning of incoming call dialogue or voice mail recordings, transcribed by a confidential FCC-certified call center. Closed captioned conversations can be saved for later reference and, similar to a cell phone, the device stores up to 500 contacts and logs recent calls, all easily accessible through the touchscreen. The telephone amplifies sound up to 50 decibels, the edges of the screen flash to indicate an incoming call, and its talking caller ID announces the phone number of incoming calls (caller ID subscription required).
