Classic Nixie Tube Clock

The name “Nixie” was derived by Burroughs from “NIX I”, an abbreviation of “Numeric Indicator eXperimental No. 1”.
Hundreds of Nixie tubes with size and display variations were manufactured during their lifespan. In 1970, the RCA introduced the Numitron tube with incandescent filaments arranged into a new seven segment styled display that emulated the numbers one through zero with various combinations of the seven illuminated incandescent filaments.
While not perfectly rounded and formed digits, the straight segments of the Numitron seven segment display became the standard for all future numerical displays including the vacuum fluorescent display (VFD), LED, and LCD seven segment displays.Price: $299.95
