Remigio Solari, a self-taught engineer, fitted alphanumeric characters and text onto metal flaps attached on a wheel mechanism, enclosed it within a glass display and the Solari board was born. And for decades, travelers around the world have relied on the Solari board for departure and arrival information in airports and train stations.
