What hosting I need?
We just start to move our server. The last one, a VPS, was too slow and downtime was too high. When we buy the last one we just take a friend recommendation and go for it. Unfortunately our friend is not an expert in webhosting… He just told us he experience with his website hosting provider. The support is very good; the network uptime is outstanding; the payment method includes paypal and credit card; the company is reliable and has a good reputation.
Unlucky for us the recommended provider proven to be good for dedicate web hosting but we choose VPS. Why we choose VPS? Because we were thinking that VPS is next step from sharing webhosting and the price was pretty good. Even more, after we found a coupon we got a good looking package for 90 USD: 100GB HHD, 1GB memory, 1400GB Monthly Transfer Bandwidth…
After few weeks we saw that the server crash almost each day. Also it is a pain to post articles with photos (slow upload, freeze in the middle of posting…). We realize that was a bad move but we stay there for several months because we are thinking that was some temporally problems. Also, the support proves to be very helpful and ready to answer fast 24 hours / day. But the downtime was really annoying and bad for our business. We conclude that any problems should have a solution and we decide last week that is time to go elsewhere.
We start to search for a web hosting guide and after we read a lot and try to learn something about how to choose the right server to choose a dedicate server and till now we are very happy with it. The support is outstanding and we will move in this week-end our three main website to the new home.
In conclusion: before you go to buy a new webhost go and learn about it. Read the comments and see if others customers are happy with the solution you searching for.
